Ion Exchange Nitrate Resin
It is important to make sure that any iron has been removed by an iron filter before installing a nitrate system. Unlike other resins, Hellenbrand’s special strong base anion resin will not release or “dump” nitrates until regeneration. This macroporous resin also provides rapid adsorption kinetics, which means Nitrates are quickly removed as water passes through the Filter. Once the resin beads are loaded with Nitrates, the system can efficiently regenerate the resin with standard water softener salt.
Nitrate Filter Control Center
Nitrate Filters have different needs than Water Softeners. The 9 cycle ProMate 6 controller is custom programmed for optimal soaking and rinsing required by Nitrate Resin. The controller automatically measures water use and adjusts the reserve capacity to make sure you never run out of clean water.
Enhanced Nitrate Removal
If the pores in nitrate resin plug up with hard water, iron, or dirt, they lose their functionality. For resin to stay clean, it needs to backwash and flush out this foreign material.
Standard Nitrate Filters have a weak backwash that simply rises up through the resin bed like blowing bubbles in a glass of milk with a straw. The Hellenbrand Vortech Plate acts like an agitator in a laundry machine and sends a powerful circular flow through the resin bed. This aggressive flushing knocks out debris for superior resin cleaning.
