The ProMate 6.5 uses Hellenbrand's patented upflow regeneration technology for huge efficiency savings over standard water softeners.
Once standard systems run out of capacity, they inject salt into the top of the tank which flows down unevenly in the path of least resistance towards a small cone at the bottom. Roughly 40% of the salt can be wasted in the “hard water pocket” at the top of the tank.
The ProMate 6.5 injects salt from the bottom, and a special, full-width Plate helps push the water up evenly through the tank for better cleaning, and a much more efficient regeneration.

Standard water softeners use the same amount of salt each regeneration. This is like buying $20 of gas not matter how full your tank is. Proportional brining adjusts for each regeneration, and saves 17% salt by only using enough salt to clean dirty resin.
The ProMate 6.5 uses Hellenbrand's patented Vortech Plates for a massive improvement over conventional water softeners and filters.
Standard systems pull water in the path of least resistance unevenly through the tank down towards a small cone. This reduces the resin or media's effectiveness, and results in uneven buildup that is much harder to clean out.
The Vortech Plate runs the full width and pull water evenly through the tank for balanced loading, and a much more efficient regeneration.

If resin bead pores plug up with hard water, iron, or dirt, they lose their functionality. For resin to stay clean, it needs to backwash and flush out this foreign material.
Standard water softeners have a weak backwash that simply rises up through the resin bed like blowing bubbles in a glass of milk with a straw.
The Hellenbrand Vortech Plate acts like an agitator in a laundry machine and sends a powerful circular flow through the resin bed. This aggressive flushing knocks out debris for superior resin cleaning.
The 9 cycle ProMate 6.5 controller accurately measures and records your water usage for the past 63 days. This smart control feature automatically adjusts the reserve capacity to make sure that you never run out of soft water.
The Hellenbrand ProMate 6.5 softener may be configured as a twin tank softener for added flexibility. Dual tank, or twin tank softeners have several advantages over single tank systems:
Never run out of soft water
Once the first tank is exhausted, the system switches to the second tank to give you 24 hours of soft water. This is ideal for large families, or where water use dramatically fluctuates from day to day.
Higher flow rates
When both tanks are run in parallel, you can achieve 2x the flow rate of a single tank system. This is ideal for homes with walk-in showers with multiple sprayer heads that require an unusually high flow rates.
